SOHO BURTON STORE ART TAKE OVER
Role: Artist
DÜPP¥ is my alias art name and this was my first independent DUPPY Art Show, hosted
by Burton Snowboards at their Flagship Soho New York City Store. After years of
having a great relationship with Burton Snowboards, I introduced the idea to
Burton to have an evening to display and sell my art. They responded
wholeheartedly and there could not have been a better crew of people with which
to work 😊 .
Creating customized artistic apparel via painting, I designed
T-Shirts, hats,
tote bags, and shoes. Every T-shirt, hat, pair of shoes and tote bag was
a specially and
custom made art piece which was being sold to whomever participated in the
evening’s festivities.
Additionally, Burton supplied me with Anon snowboarding helmets. In return, I painted on the helmets (“Duppy’d” them!) which were then raffled off for ‘The Chill Foundation”, a charitable organization which inspires youth to overcome challenges through boardsports. This event was produced by myself and a small team, gaining sponsorships to contribute to the evening such as Montauk Brew Co., AriZona Iced Tea, Williamsburg Pizza, To The Moon Cannabis and Sail Away Coffee.
